So, we made a sci-fi epic.

Back in 1991, we sold a short documentary to public television. It won us a little grant money, too. Our short had cost us $200 to make and earned us $11,000. We were flush with success! (Insert sound effect here).

"With that kind of money, we could make a whole movie!" We already owned a couple of Hi-8 camcorders. And tape was cheap... what more would we need?

We wrote a script. We built props. We found actors who would work for food. For two years our house became production office, craft services, and movie set.

Almost a decade has passed. The money's been spent, several times over. We're wan and sickly. Our eyes are shot. But we finished our movie.
