What's New:September, 2002 BWTC "Highly Commended" in Manchester, England
On August 31, "Breakfast With The Colonel" played the Festival of Fantastic Films in Manchester, England. Festival competition judges awarded the film "highly commended" status. An email from fest attendee M.J. Simpson reports that the film played to a "fairly small but appreciative" audience. M.J. also wrote a quite nice little review of BWTC for his movie site.
What's New: August, 2002 BWTC to screen in San Francisco and Manchester, England
Blimey! "Breakfast With The Colonel" will screen at the Festival of Fantastic Films in Manchester, England on August 31! The filmmakers will not be in attendance... too bad, because Udo Kier is among the invited guests... but we'd like to hear from anybody who does make the screening. Do drop us a line, eh what? Also stay tuned for details on our "Director's Choice" screening at the Film Arts Festival in SF on November 16!
What's New: May, 2002 BWTC plays to packed house at Sonoma Fest
Thanks to all our most excellent friends and supporters who turned out! You guys rock. The seats of the "Cinema Lounge" were filled and people were standing along the walls. The 5th Annual Sonoma Valley Film Festival was a class act. We'd like to thank the good people at the Festival for putting on a great event and for supporting local filmmakers, namely, us. Thanks to Brenda and Marc Lhormer, LeeJay Olnes and of course Chris Gore, and to all the great volunteers. Everyone was friendly and supportive and we had a blast schmoozing, boozing, rubbing elbows with the celebs and checking out the other films. A couple of pictures are at left, more to come!
What's New:April, 2002: BWTC to play SVFF April 12!

The festival director this year is Chris Gore, best known as the founder of Film Threat Magazine (www.filmthreat.com). Chris has placed "Breakfast with the Colonel" along with other "edgy" fare into a series called the "Cinema Lounge."
Meanwhile , here's a recent article on the festival from the North Bay Bohemian.
What's New: February, 2002: BWTC plays at Chill Valley
Breakfast with the Colonel saw its premiere public screening at the Chill Valley Film Festival on October 13, 2001. The festival featured a full 8 hours of features and short films by Bay Area makers, the majority of which were recent rejectees from the Mill Valley Film Festival! BREAKFAST was well attended by an audience of around 75. It was projected from the DVC-PRO master and looked great on the big screen. The audience reacted well, laughing and gasping in all the right places. Thanks again to all who attended.
You can see the entire lineup for the festival (and read great coverage of the the fest and BWTC from local media by going to www.chillvalley.com
The one disappointment from the day was the relatively scant turnout of cast & crew from the movie! It was, admittedly, short notice. Postcards were sent to all those on the official mailing list. Some came back, with no forwarding address. Please get in touch if you see your name here:

What's New: September, 2001
Wow, this is the first update since April! What the heck have we been doing? Well, it's been a long year of sending out tapes to film festivals and to distributors. If there had been news to report, it would have been posted here . . . the only news for some time has been our comprehensive and ever-growing collection of rejection letters from some of the finest film festivals on the continent.
But NOW THE NEWS FLASH! After being rejected from this year's Mill Valley Film Festival, we've decided to take matters into our own hands! Spurned by our very own local film organization, we've responded with some counter-programming. We are hereby announcing THE CHILL VALLEY FESTIVAL, the cooler alternative! Mark your calendars, THE WORLD PREMIERE OF BREAKFAST WITH THE COLONEL will take place at Olney Hall on the College of Marin campus on Saturday, October 13. In fact, we're planning a whole day of films & video, all by Bay Area makers, all rejected from Mill Valley! Mark your calendars! Don't know what time BWTC will screen yet. Check back here for updates... and also see www.chillvalley.com
What's New: April, 2001 - final credits
Recently Glen composed and output the FINAL CREDITS for the end of the movie. They look quite nice and I think we spelled everyone's name right. The final piece of "Breakfast with the Colonel" is now in place. We'll be mailing one of our master tapes down to Southern California this week to get some dubs made. From here our attention turns to getting our project out into the world. We'll be contacting distributors and festivals, and exploring other avenues as well, to getting "Breakfast with the Colonel" seen. Meanwhile, we are also looking for a place for our premiere bash. We'll keep you posted.
What's New: October, 2000 - Success!
Yes, we hardly believe it ourselves, but "Breakfast with the Colonel" is done! We completed editing on the final scene just past midnight on October 5, 2000. Now just some work on the final credits and we'll have ourselves a movie.
What's New: September, 2000
Currently both Fidget Barns North & South (that would be John & Glen, respectively) are bustling beehives of activity as we bust our butts to finish this thing! Our goal: to have a complete master tape in just over a month, in time to make an important film festival submission deadline. There's still a lot of work to do. Over 90% of the film is completed, but the remaining scenes are effects-and-graphics intensive sequences in which we see the actual "Breakfast with the Colonel" TV show on the air. Attention all our friends: Don't call us this month. We've got no time for gettin' crazy on the dance floor.
What's New: July, 2000
We've just finished cutting our thrilling CHASE SCENE (scene 105, for those of you who are keeping track). Continuity people will have fun with this one, trying to figure out which shots in the sequence feature actor Peter Struble astride his bicycle (disguised in wig and muu-muu) and which shots are actually of director John Harden in the same getup some 6 years later!
Scene block 091-098 has been completed. As this sequence begins, Jack is realizing that his options have narrowed to two: wait quietly at home for eventual arrest and imprisonment in a Pacifica Province labor camp, or flee, to face an even more uncertain future as a fugitive, allied with the mysterious rebel organization NURF-PAC. We can't reveal much more now, except to say that a very sharp X-acto knife figures prominently in the moments that follow...
What's New: June, 2000
Scene block 046-047 has been completed. This is the scene in which Jack, fresh
from his traumatic induction into the Lifestyle Enhancement program, meets
Joey King. King describes himself as a "revolutionary" and tries to convince
Jack to join his cause.
A special effects sequence
has been completed which will cap off scene 045, in which Jack is taken
into custody by the Militia.
